John and Herb Hinely believe that in our competitive market, special pricing becomes a very
important issue. “We believe that our pricing,
combined with our quality products and excellent service is the Best Value for your dollar.
Every customer is entitled to the Best pricing available. We make this possible, by
specifically designing programs that meet with the specific needs of our customers.”
The Hinely family
has been in the dry ice and co2 business for over 40 years. In January of 2009, their companies:
Carbonic Distributors, Inc. and Consolidated Carbonic, Inc. (as a sign of the times), merged with
their other company Florida Carbonic Distributor, Inc. in order to streamline costs and to become
more efficient. Due to this merge, they also thought it was a good idea for their company name to
show that they were a collective or group. Therefore, Florida Carbonic Distributor, Inc. now has a
dba, “Carbonic
Group”. “We are still the same staff, the same
locations, the same quality customer service and attention,” Herb explains. “In order to reduce our customers’ costs, we had to reduce our costs
first, so that we can provide better coverage for the entire state of Florida and South Georgia and
provide better satisfaction.”
Our Legacy
Established in 1963,
businessman Vernon Hinely is renowned in the state of Florida and the southeastern United
States for his innovative leadership in the CO2 manufacturing and equipment industry. His
company, Carbonic Industries Corporation, was the fourth largest producer of carbon dioxide in
the United States.
n 1996 Vernon sold Carbonic Industries Corporation to a competitor in the Industry. Since
then, he has been extremely active in the community, including serving as President of the Citrus
Bowl in Orlando and on the board of directors of Florida College in Tampa.
In 1970, his company purchased
other related businesses, which currently services the major
industrial gas companies worldwide, nationwide welding distributors, regional industrial gas
companies, textiles, fire protection, limestone industries and more.

Warm gesture, very cold tank (November
1995) Carbonic Industries
Corp. of Duluth, Ga., recently donated a carbon dioxide freezing tunnel and tank to Mississippi
State. President J. Vernon Hinely (r) took part in a dedication ceremony with Charles H. White,
head of the Food Science and Technology Department. Valued at $100,000, the 24-foot-long
rapid-freeze equipment is housed in the Ammerman-Hearnsberger Food Processing Plant. The equipment
is available for use by the food processing industry, in addition to research scientists in the
department and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station.
